![]() ![]() need the program Speedfan to be installed and running to work. Overall Review: The temperature sensors, Fan speed sensors, Voltage core, etc. The manual was a little bit, well um "Little" you needed to go to the web site to get additional information. (It warned of this but still should have come with a CD) Software and drivers had to be downloaded. Plugin for power connector was exceptionally short and the USB cable is not very long. I am really happy I bought this product.Ĭons: #1. If you use your PC to play music, this will show a graphic EQ with title song and other info. Literally hundreds of functions can be displayed. Pros: The Display is nice and bright, The software features a Lot of different things you can customize to have it display, From the Current date and time, to your OS to your Temperatures and Fan speeds, CPU usage, Hard drive space remaining, whether or not you have new email. Software should allow user to determine thickness of numbers, space(s) between them, and NO LEADING ZERO!!! A big kudos if you can do what nMediaPC couldn't and get the software to control the brightness nMediaPC shouldn't sell this till it's fixed. Or if they can create software that works! Save those that have this blasted thing! Tell us how! *Self Setting using Atomic time clock would be really awesome! So you can shut off your computer without having to worry about a battery keeping your time* If anyone can rig up this VFD to act as an independant clock. I got 2 120mm and 2 80mm fans keeping the case cool. ![]() Nothing overclocked, Ceton has VGA cooler keeping it very cool. Unit should have trimmer to control brightness.ĭon't reckon rest matters, but just in case Unit should have trimmer to control contrast Still sad all these brains out there and a simple 20x2 VFD can't display the time like the DVR from Comcast! It's what I should have done in the first place. I'm going to go buy a $30 Auto-Set atomic time digital clock from Wal-Mart. Got the module in a port around back of the computer. I rigged it with a USB cable so I can have my front USB back. Unfortunally this little project seems to be a thing of the past! I gave up on this as well and am calling it a loss. You can't kill the leading Zero in nMediaPC's software. I'm also having issues with the display freezing up *Resume from Sleep*Īnd I'm not going to stop my PC from going to sleep and waste all that energy just to appease the VFD module! It does NOT work! *For my setup anyway* You have ZERO control over brightness even if it is in the program. At least what I learn can help save others time and effort!Ĭons: nMedia hasn't updated their software in years. See my system specs in other thoughts if you desire to give this a shot, but do not want the same headaches I went through. I disagree, because the mPlay software doesn't have any problem. ![]() Anything other than 0-9 and a-z is a garbled mess on this PC. :( I'm so fed up with this POC! LCDSmartie - (Pros: No crazy splash screen & you can kill the leading Zero on clock. WORTHLESS! It dims both the backlight and display. I used a 1K Pot Trim because it was much smaller and easier to deal with inside the case. That can take a few minutes) Same route even plugged in PSU though, but I put it back to PSU because I wanted to put in the POT. Issue? When the thing locks up, you have to remove power and let it discharge before you can use it again. Pros: None - I rewired it to power from USB in hopes it would stay on in Standby. ![]()
